LOVE vs. CAREER

Love according to Mr. Google can refer to a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes that ranges from interpersonal affection ("I love my mother") to pleasure ("I loved that meal"). It can refer to an emotion of a strong attraction and personal attachment while Career is defined by the is defined by the Oxford English Dictionary as a person's "course or progress through life (or a distinct portion of life)". In this definition career is understood to relate to a range of aspects of an individual's life, learning and work.
The choice between love and career has always been a great debate for decades. Many people especially those who are in relationships struggles on this matter. It is hard for someone to give up any of this two and end up sacrificing. Career is as important as love for career will support your living while love on the other hand is as important as career because it gives the vivid color of your world.

After watching the movie I just realized that you don't need to give up anything, you have to choose and take time for each decisions you make. If your partner is supportive of your dreams (like Erich in the movie)then there will be no problem. You just have to weight everything, If you think your career will make you a better person then do it (like Mario in the movie) after all it is your dream and at the end of the day you will still end  up together. Love and career should be balance, choosing one from the other will always have benefits and consequences. Supporting each others decision will make your relationship stronger.

Based from my own experience, as a young professional I am at the midst of taking serious decisions in life I too struggles over this matter. My boyfriend is an engineer and he works in Dubai, his profession suits best in other countries like Dubai while I am a devoted teacher who promised to stay in my own country and nurture young minds. If you will try to understand the picture we live in two different worlds but why do we still manage to meet both worlds and keep our career and the flame of our love hot(we are now in an almost 7-year relationship)

This are few tips on how we overcome the great struggle:

1. Treat each other well, make sure you have time to talk with each other despite the super busy schedule.

2. Don't routinize things, give surprises if possible

3. Don't argue over time, time is a gift make the most out of it, don't be jealous with the time he indulge himself in works after all overtimes is for your future.

4.Don't work when you are together, set limits when you are together prioritize each other.

5. Be cooperative

6. Be compassionate over his needs

7. Love him unconditionally and focus on your work

8. Learn to accept things that you cannot change

9. Think well

10. Follow your heart

11. Living together for love and work is a better inspiration than living alone and working. would you love to see yourself 10 or 20 years from now counting all your money alone?

12. Have the right perspective in life

As what David Bohl's said It is only when we can maintain this delicate balance that we are living life to its greatest potential. So learn to balance ourselves, we don't need to choose after all the two serves as spices in our colorful life. The two when use properly gives us a wonderful life in our future, and we should not forget to make God as the center of our lives so we can be happy all the time!

LOVE OR CAREER, I CHOOSE BOTH!

I am inspired to write on this due to the movie Suddenly It's Magic wherein I watched a while ago at CinemaOne

Teaching: An Incredible Profession

photo credit: Teacher's Room at Facebook

HAPPY TEACHER'S MONTH!

Since I was 4, when asked the profession I want to be in the future I always tell them I WANT TO BE A TEACHER! In the early phased of my life I already realized that teaching is the job for me!

SHORT HISTORY OF MY TEACHING JOB:(After graduation from college I immediately hired as grade school teacher at Saviour's Christian Academy. My experiences at SCA honed me to be a better educator. I was inspired with their toughness and how they centered their lives to God, I was motivated because I have the best pupils in town. Pupils who are loving and supportive in all the things we do. I loved them like they were my own children. After my 2 years stay at the prestigious school I was hired as a substitute teacher at my Alma Matter, Roque B. Ablan Elementary School, this time it was a dream came true, I enjoyed my stay with them even for a short period of time. I learned a lot from my former elementary teachers.Due to my quest for a more challenging teaching life I tried my luck at the most prestigious school in Ilocos Region, I was hired at Mariano Marcos State University where I am still teaching as of today)

Until I became one! To be a teacher is a tough job.Imagine yourself waking up too early to catch the early first period class after sleeping too late to finish all the paper works.

Shouting and yelling to every pupils who has a louder voice than you.

Checking all the papers dump into your table after the many activities you prepared late night.

Going out form post too late in the afternoon.

Writing narratives.

Checking the 40plus pupils you have and making sure they are all OK under your care.

Doing at least all the good things in the world to show them you are a role model.

But hey!Wait! It's the best profession in town because if I have 10 reasons why I do not like teaching I have millions of reasons why I so loved my profession, my vocation, my calling from the Almighty Father!

If you are a teacher:

You have 40 pupils a year X no. of teaching years(what if you have 35 years of teaching) then you will have 1400 friends x 3 their parents, yayas, guardians throughout your 35 years in the service.

You'll never be forgotten

You have the best memory in town because you always read books and watch the news.

You are loved

You know almost all the people in the church, market, malls, everywhere.

You grow up with good values.

You can visit the hospital with free doctor's fee (because the resident doctor was once one of your pupils)

You can have a percentage off from the engineer when you build your house.

You have discounts in every establishments.

You are compensated so well (not from the government)

People always recognize you

You hold positions in churches

You made a difference in the lives of many people

You enjoy interpersonal interactions

You are the boss of your own class

You laugh everyday

You have more time with your own child(for parents)

You enjoy lots of vacations like summer and Christmas breaks unlike other jobs

Your the best artist in town

You are admired

...and etc...etc...etc...
