Lector's Note Pamulinawen Festival 2013 (when i was the lector)

Aloha kakahiaka! Welcome to Iglesia Filipina Independiente for the last Sunday after Epiphany. We extend a special welcome to all our brothers and sisters who are with us today.
Speak out with a voice of joy and let it be heard to the ends of the earth!
Today, February 10, we commemorate the feast day of St. William the Hermit the patron Saint of the City of Laoag. St. William the Hermit was born in France, and led a life of sin as a young man but he was converted to Christ. He lived a life of prayer, silence, fasting and penance until his death.
To celebrate the mass is our Diocesan Bishop The Rt. Rev. Emiliano Domingo with his concelebrants, The RT. Rev. Robert Fitzpatrick Bishop of the Diocese of Hawaii, The Rt. Rev. Vermilion Tagalog Bishop of the Diocese of LUISA, The Very Rev. Randolf Albano, Vicar of the Diocese of Hawaii and our Dean Very Rev. Jonathan Salud and canon Rev Mildred Peregrino. May we all rise to give honor!
FIRST READING
The shine in the face of Moises is a sign that there is immeasurable change for those people who are open to receive the grace of God. We are able to change through our faith and our way of worshipping Him. The first reading will be read by Mr. Edwin Francisco.

SECOND READING:
Pablo gave a sign that we are not like the Istraelites, who are not willing to worship the Lord and do not accept Yaweh. We were baptized to smoothen our hearts and to realize the glory of God. Paul showed all of this through his conversion as a faithful servant through the mercy of the Holy Spirit. The second reading will be read by Dr. Elsie C. Pilar
INTERCESSION: The prayers of the faithful will be delivered by Mr. Joseph Duldulao, LIFI; Mrs. Manuela Ganal WOPIC and Mr. John Mark Carl Flores YIFI
Offering: Amin Apo nga agpartisipar iti panagdatun ket mapan da koman ijai likod.

Do you need a Wedding Proposal to say YES!

I was inpired to write on this not because I experienced it (no not yet and i guess will never be) but because I am so inspired by the different uploads in youtubes (which I even downloaded some) and different stories from friends who had this experience!

What is wedding proposal anyway? is this a must before settling down?

According to Google, A marriage proposal is an event where one person in a relationship ask for the other's hand in marriage. If accepted, it marks the initiation of engagement. It often has a ritual quality, sometimes involving the presentation of n engagement ring and the formal asking of a question such as, "Will you marry me?" In western culture (or rather the anglo-western culture sphere), it is traditional for the man to propose to the woman while kneeling on one knee before her (occasionally referred to as genuflection), and sometimes putting the ring on her finger, as opposed to merely giving it to her. Often the proposal is a surprise.

Wedding proposal is something every girl wished for aside from a fairy tale wedding of course. Almost all girls in the world is dreaming of a wonderful proposal surprise from their lovers. When I was a little younger I always fantasized of having a wonderful surprise in the future, I used stalk of plants as rings and place it in my ring finger, I make myself believe that someday a prince will come and ask me to marry him, I always watch or read articles about proposals, I even sneak out and check accounts of friends who had experienced it. I giggle a lot when I saw how happy expressed in teary-eyes the lady would be, I even noticed that even the wedding is still far they already had that engagement to lock the possibility of marriage (I even asked myself matutuloy kaya?) recently, I have closed friends who had their wedding proposals some in simple ways and some in gigantic extraordinary forms, some already locked it in marriage. I always ask myself will I have one like this in the future? Well, I guess not! it is already enough for me to be"kilig" with what I see and saw in articles and with friends. Why?

I don't think I will still fulfill this fantasy, I don't see a possibility of having one because at this point marriage is already something were looking forward to, we already have plans, therefore do you think I still need to be asked if I wanna marry him? because obviously my answer will be YES!. I don't even need fancy sterling diamonds to prove that I will soon get married, why not just use that money used in buying it for the future, I don't even find wisdom in surprises. I guess I just woke up from a dream and saw the bitter-sweet experiences of life. At 25, I can say I am more practical now. How much do you think your partner will spend for the fancy full of surprises proposal, how much will he used in calling out friends to help him, how much will he use in restaurants or hotels for the event, and how much is the diamond ring your dreaming off cost out from his pocket or bank accounts. Yes, it is the sweetest thing, people will talked about your relationship but hey! will you be ready enough for a future together? I mean financially? If your partner came from a well off family then continue dreaming girl! but if you came from average family and your boyfriend's intention is just to surprise you and make you happy then you have to be awaken yourself from that dream.

However, most ladies still want to have a wedding proposal because it is a life event in which can be shared to your children's children. It is a treasure which no one could get, it is a way of showing how important your girlfriend to you, it is showing how ready you are and checking how ready your girlfriend for married life 'coz it comes in surprises. It is even the formal way of introducing your soon to be wife or husband to your whole clan. For richer families they even have parties for the engagement. For the guys this could even make or break your relationship 'coz you wouldn't know what her answer would be! It is an event where you showcases your bright and creative ideas to please your girl and it is where you can find true friends to help you in surprising her.( I found 50 ideas in proposing thru this site http://wedding.theknot.com/getting-engaged/marriage-proposals/articles/50-romantic-ways-to-propose.aspx... i hope it can help the future husbands) (this can even help too http://www.buzzfeed.com/lukelewis/heartmelting-marriage-proposals

It is a heartmelting experience indeed but not too practical. I am not against wedding proposal common im dying to experience one I just hope I have a mega super rich boyfriend who could buy me a -nth karrat diamond ring and surprise me in a 5 star hotel or deck of a cruise but I just have an ordinary young man who means everything to me that he doesn't need to give me everything just to love and marry him! I know he knows already my answer if he will ask me to marry him and definitely it will be a YES!!! 'coz it's not the fancy proposal but it's God who destined us to be together :)

When I Found My Everything (Over the cool breeze of Pagudpud Beach)

Every woman dreams of having a man that perfectly made for them....Someone that feeds their fantasy….

during my younger years I dreamed of an unreachable someone....a knight in shining armor who could truly shield me against danger....someone that fits my imagination, a tall, a handsome, and a super intelligent one.....as I mature the minutiae of my
imagination is becoming unreachable. I had few relationships but they just brought me lessons, they never stayed so long and my vision of a perfect match is not even obtained.

My fantasy turned nonsense my illusions were wasted…when I thought it’s my time to grow and accepted to be an old maid……there, I met this guy named Jesthony..he was never in my plan, he is not even the man I dream of, he is not tall, he is not as handsome as Patrick Garcia and I don’t think if he can fight when I am in trouble…..he is just like any other high school batch mate, a normal acquaintance…..

Jess is good at my worst and vice versa….he is a musician where I am a prostrated one..he is good in math and it’s my waterloo….he love to watch movies and I don’t like it….he sleep early while I sleep late…he plans to go Abroad while I want to live in our land…he smiles when I frown, he frown when I smile….i love to read while he doesn’t like….i love Science and he is not interested…I love to cook and he just want to eat…...at first I find it as a mismatch and I realized it’s not: opposite attracts they say we support each other, his negatives are neutralized by my positives and my negatives becomes neutral with his positives…..we respect each other’s likes, we value each other’s aspirations…..

the first day I met (meet again) Jess and he smiled at me I know right then that he is the angel God sent to guide me….he might not be my knight who could fight when I am in trouble but he is absolutely my Divine inspiration that always makes my day ideal….the first hello is like a resounding applause that cuts my auditory nerves, the first hug is like the heat of the sun that gives me warmth, the exchanging of ILOVEYOU’s makes my heart cultivate, the first kiss is like the sweetness of the honey that awakes my appetite
I know these are not yet our best moments, God is still mixing the ingredients of better tomorrow but I believed we are having our perfect days….
I look forward spending the rest of my life with him, to love him, to value him, to take good care of him even in his oldest, and to be on his side until our last breath.

Our 3 years and 3 months relationship (which we are celebrating today Oct,8) is not enough to judge the life we could have in the future, it is not enough to reason out the plans we want for the two of us…..but with the 3 years and 3 months that we spent together it’s enough to proved that God made us for each other, it’s enough to show that we can stand by our promises, it’s enough to justify that we can hold hand for the future……….

God made us and He is with us, He designed our lives and He will nurture it, He establish our relationship not just for each other, not just for our future but for our family and for the rest of the people around us as well….we will remain to share the blessings we keep on receiving and remain to inspire people!!!God is definitely so good for letting me meet my everything………

My Chubz……
My Life………
My Inspiration….
I truly Love and Value you for the rest of my life J

I made this at exactly 2:59 AM

HAPPY 39 MOTHSARY MY EVERYTHING

LIFE'S LESSONS (reposted)

ONE.  Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.

TWO .... Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.

THREE.  Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.

FOUR . When you say, 'I love you ,' mean it.

FIVE.  When you say, 'I'm sorry,' look the person in the eye.

SIX ... Be engaged at least six months before you get married.

SEVEN..  Believe in love at first sight.

EIGHT.
Never laugh at anyone's dream. People who don't have dreams don't have much.

NINE
. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely.

TEN. .
In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling....

ELEVEN.
Don't judge people by their relatives.

TWELVE.
 Talk slowly but think quickly.

THIRTEEN.
When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, 'Why do you want to know?'

FOURTEEN.
Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.

FIFTEEN.
Say 'bless you' when you hear someone sneeze..

SIXTEEN.   When you lose, don't lose the lesson !

SEVENTEEN.   Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for others; and Responsibility for all your actions.

EIGHTEEN...   Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship..

NINETEEN.  When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.

TWENTY.  Smile when picking up the phone.. The caller will hear it in your voice.

TWENTY-ONE.  Spend some time alone..

Trinitas Publishing Hosts Seminar in the North by Romelyn V. Tutaan

(may i just post it here di pa kasi ako binayaran ng publisher eh :) )

“Being careful in the decisions you make will define the success of your endeavours in life.”
The northernmost part of the country had a taste of enlightenment through a one-day seminar with the theme “Keep Calm Love your Job”. It was hosted by Trinitas Publishing, Inc. at Johnsons Function Hall, Laoag City on November 24, 2012. It was participated by school administrators, principals and teachers from the different private schools in the Division of Ilocos Norte and Laoag City.
The seminar started with an inspiring excerpt from a segment of Rated K where the speaker, Mr. LLyod Luna, a renowed motivational speaker, multi-awarded entrepreneur, musician and writer was featured. The participants gave their expectations and the atmosphere of the event was so light and jolly.
The speaker divided his talk into two modules where the first one is from his published book, “Why Good People Fail”. He discussed the ways on how to be resourceful and the ways on how a person could solve problems and eventually be successful. He further said that background, economy and achievements are not the key factor for a person’s success rather it is in his way of thinking and his life’s prospective. He also explained that there is no absolute pattern for success; it is on how the person deals with it. He showed in his slide the four types of people and explained that the root of good people’s failure is because of their own carelessness. The speaker met his objective by explaining the right attitude to avoid failure.
The second module was “Why Am I Working?” where he explained the difference between “job” and “work” and the factors to consider while at work to create healthy working environment and good working dispositions. The speaker stressed out that life is a continuous exchange of value and to be successful a person must possess the right attitude.
The seminar was a learning experience and enlightenment as it is showed in the faces of all the participants. They went out of the hall full of ideas and aspirations. Trinitas Publishing, Inc. never fails to provide the needs of their clients for they do not only mean business but they lend a hand to inspire and motivate for their clients to be successful.

Sunshine City awards Sunshine Women Achievers by Carlo P. Canares

LAOAG CITY, April 8 (PIA) - It was a glorious occasion for women as the Sunshine City of the North, Laoag City, honored its women achievers in its first-ever Sunshine Women Awards recently.
Twenty-three women were awarded for their outstanding achievements in various fields by the Laoag City Government headed by Mayor Michael Farinas in cooperation with the Laoag City Local Council for Women (LCLCW).
The winners for the Women- Adult (Professional) Category are Lilian Abijero, Isabel Sandi, Teresita Edu, Evelyn Gallardo, Glory delos Santos, Esther Lili Pasion, Linda Catimbang and Celestina Paz.
For the Women-Adult (Non-Professional) Category, they are Lydia Abragar, Lorenza Maximo, Evelyn Anacleto, Estella Angel, Virginia Ancheta Agustin, Mercedes Ramos, Teresita Macaballug and Mercedez Coloma.
There were five winners for the Young Women Category, namely, Maelynne Maximo, Leiveryn Ramos, Karen de Jesus, Toni Carag and Romelyn Tutaan.

Chevylle Farinas, chair of the LCLCW, and Cagayan SP member Atty Mila Lauigan led the awarding of trophies and certificates to the awardees amidst cheering from women’s groups at the Laoag City Multi Purpose Amphitheatre.According to Mary Ang, head of the selection committee, they had a difficult time selecting from among a huge number of qualified nominees. This goes to show, she said, the big role women has played in nation building and the inspiration they serve to others.
The awardees were nominated either by Barangay Councils, a recognized youth and adult group, or non-government organization.
It was the first time the Sunshine Women Award was given and the City Government plans to continue giving it out from hereon. (ANL/CPC-PIA 1 Ilocos Norte)
